Short Video Screening
Worn Fashion Journal is launching issue number 5 with a bang. October 13th they will be hosting a screening of short videos by local artists with the theme of fashion. They will be compiling a dvd of the videos that will be for sale at the launch and on wornjournal.com.
Get a Super Super 8!
Worn Fashion Journal will be handing out ballots and tallying votes for the most popular video of the night. They will be handing out a prize to the winning video: A super cute Super8 camera in a custom, one of a kind carrying case by local artist Jesse Purcell, who’s work can be found on the walls at Morales Boutique (5392 St-Laurent, next to Green Room).
GUIDELINES:
- Between 30 seconds and 3 minutes
- Theme: Fashion/Clothing. Carte blanche on genre and interpretation of the theme, it can be anything about clothing, not just fashion in the traditional sense.
- We accept past work that fits into the guidelines.
- You can work solo or in teams. Remember this is a great way to promote a company, group, collective, etc.
Since the videos will be compiled onto a dvd, it is recommended to not use popular music. It’s a great opportunity to hook up with a local musician or band and make a collaborative video. However, if you choose to use copyrighted material, they will show it at the screening and not put it on the dvd. Same goes for copyrighted imagery and video clips.
Format: Mini DV or high quality MPEG, AVI, or QUICKTIME file, preferably with as little codecs or compression as possible. You can burn the data on a DVD-R.
****Remember this is a screening, therefore it will be blown up for projection and needs to be high resolution.
Submissions are from August 20th to September 20th.
You must hand in an information sheet with your name/names or group name, the title of your piece and a 50 word artist bio to be included in the event program.
